Having studied Engineering in Argentina and France, and after a short experience in Buenos Aires in the steel industry, Ramiro decided to return to his native Mendoza in 2002 and develop his career in the International Wine Trade. He then spent 8 years at Cartellone Group in several senior roles in Marketing and Export Sales becoming VP Sales and Marketing for the Wine Division. He followed his career at Peñaflor Group, the biggest Wine Company in Argentina, owner of Trapiche Winery among others, where he stayed for 5 years as VP International Sales for Finca Las Moras, the second largest business unit of the group.​
In November 2014, he was appointed by Michel Rolland as Managing Director of Clos de los Siete with the mission of taking the brand to the next new level. Ramiro Barrios is an enthusiastic wine communicator, passionate on Argentine wine terroirs, and he is part of the generation that opened doors and put Argentine wine on the international map over the past 15 years.
