Born in 1987, Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan.He is the fifth generation of the Wakatsuru Sake Brewery. After graduating from Osaka University, Faculty of Economics, Department of Economics and Business Administration, he worked for a foreign IT company in Tokyo.
In 2015, returned to his family home in Toyama and took over the whisky making business started by his great-grandfather Kotaro Inagaki in 1952.2017, renovated and rebuilt Saburomaru distillery through Crowdfunding.2019, invented and developed the world's first cast pot still "ZEMON" (patented 67219) using traditional craft Takaoka copperware technology.
ZEMON is featured on the cover of Whisky Magazine, the world's leading whisky magazine.ZEMON" won the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry's Prize in the Industrial Technology of Materials Award, the Western Whisky Technology Research Association's Prize, and other awards, and attracted worldwide attention as a new possibility for whisky.
It has also obtained a patent in the UK (Patent No. 6721917), the home of whisky. He has a wealth of experience as a blender, having won awards at whisky competitions for his own blends of "Saburomaru" and "Moonglow" whisky. He has also served as a judge for the Tokyo Whisky Spirits Competition (TWSC) and as a final judge for the World Whisky Awards (WWA). In 2021, he made the first in Japan to commercialize whisky from craft distilleries through the exchange of each whisky, and in 2022, He will established T&T TOYAMA, the first Japanese whisky bottler in Japan.
