The understanding of the unique terroir of Beaujolais has reached new levels with the completion of the Sigales soil study in 2017. This project spanned ten years, involved thousands of soil samples, and confirmed winegrowers' hypothesis that Beaujolais might be the most geodiverse wine region in the world.
