Jamie Evans is the founder and CEO of Herbacée. As a notable cannabis and wine personality, she is best known for creating The
Herb Somm, a cannabis blog and lifestyle brand that is focused on the gourmet side of the industry. Jamie is also a celebrated writer and author. Since 2018, she’s been contributing to POPSUGAR and other leading publications specializing in lifestyle features for the modern consumer. Jamie is also the co-editor of GoldLeaf's acclaimed cannabis Cooking Journal and the author of The Ultimate Guide to CBD: Explore the World of Cannabidiol. Her second book, Cannabis Drinks: Secrets to Crafting CBD and THC Beverages at Home, was published in April 2021 by Fair Winds Press of Quarto Publishing

As an industry leader, Jamie was named as one of Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 Tastemakers in 2018 and as a 2018 Innovator by SevenFifty Daily. She was also recognized as one of Green Market Report’s “Most Important Women in Weed” in 2020. Most recently, Jamie was invited to join Rolling Stone’s Culture Council and will be writing and contributing insights about various cannabis topics.
Alongside her work in the cannabis space, Jamie is a Certified Sommelier with over a decade of wine industry experience. She has traveled the world, studying viticulture in the legendary winemaking regions of Champagne and Alsace in France as well as in Australia, Italy, Switzerland, and California. Most recently she earned the Wine Scholar Guild’s French Wine Scholar (FWS) certification with highest honors. Having represented a wide array of organizations and wineries including Jackson Family Wines, Folio Fine Wine Partners, Napa Valley Grapegrowers, and more, she is known for developing top-notch public relations, marketing, and hospitality programs.
Born and raised in Truckee, CA, Jamie’s roots extend back to South Dakota farm families. She developed a love for wine and agriculture while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Wine and Viticulture, with a concentration in Wine Business at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Continuing her education, Jamie also earned a certificate of Wine Business Management from Sonoma State University. In addition, she received the Young Leaders Summit Scholarship in 2016 by SommCon USA that recognizes young leaders in the wine industry. Today, she continues her wine education at the San Francisco Wine School.
