Date & Time
Sunday, June 23, 2019, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Jesse Becker MS
Description
We will look at Austrian wine in-depth from its origins in ancient Rome to the Austro-Hungarian empire to its post-war period and its modern success as a global quality leader. Austria is not just Grüner Veltliner and Riesling but produces a range of local and international varieties from 16 distinct regions and an increasing number of controlled appellations. The culture and food play an equally important role in Austria's wine story so we will also touch on the Austrian love of cuisine, art, and fine living.
