We will look at Austrian wine in-depth from its origins in ancient Rome to the Austro-Hungarian empire to its post-war period and its modern success as a global quality leader. Austria is not just Grüner Veltliner and Riesling but produces a range of local and international varieties from 16 distinct regions and an increasing number of controlled appellations.
