Tonya Pitts has been in the food and beverage industry for over 20 years. She is originally from Saint Louis and she relocated to the Bay Area for fine art studies. She spent her early career working the floor at Judy Rogers Zuni Restaurant and Jeremiah Towers Stars Restaurant. But, it was during her tenure working for Loretta Keller at Bizou Restaurant, that Keller urged Tonya to pursue her career in wine. “I am often asked if I still paint. The answer, “my media has shifted. The canvas is food and the oil paints are bottles of wine. It is my goal to create a memorial experience with food and wine in a down to earth atmosphere. Tonya has worked in many notable houses in the Bay Area and has been featured in Wine & Spirits Magazine, Tasting Panel and numerous news and industry publications. She is also a
judge for the San Francisco International Wine Competition and is a tasting panelist for Wine and Spirits Magazine. Recently, Tonya was awarded the Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Award for Best Sommelier/Wine Director 2022. Tonya is currently pursuing wine studies with the Court of Master Sommeliers and continues to educate herself and others on the world of wine.
