Speaker Bio
Eda is a Californian born and raised (with a few detours here and there). She spent 10+ years in the food, restaurant, and service industry in the San Francisco and San Mateo areas, working mainly with Japanese business owners. Having found a deep love and respect for both Japanese food and culture, it was only natural that Japanese alcoholic beverages were the next step. After moving to Los Angeles, she became a Sake Specialist for Mutual Trading Company and Sake School of America. Eda specializes in Japanese liquor education, beverage menu consultations, tastings, food pairings, and marketing. She hopes to build comfort, excitement, and knowledge of sake and shochu with her clients by helping demystify the misconceptions and confusion surrounding Japanese liquors. Eda believes that there is always a story behind everything and translating that story into an experience that can resonate with everyone is incredibly important, especially in sake.

Eda’s certifications and titles include the J.S.A. Sake Diploma International, International Kikisake-shi (Sake Sommelier), Sake Education Council Certified Sake Professional, Japan Sake and Shochu Academy Graduate, and Certified WSET L1 and L3 Award in Sake Educator. She is also known as the host of Sake School of America’s “Brewery Spotlight” webinar series and the author of Sake Splash articles.
