Annette Hanami, DipWSET, is a wine consultant, educator and writer based in the Napa Valley
with a focus on the wines of France. She holds the Diploma from the Wine & Spirit Education
Trust and wine certifications from the Culinary Institute of America and Society of Wine
Educators. Annette has trained the trade, media and wine students in French wines since 2006
and since 2011, has represented the Bourgogne Wine Board in a variety of educational and
promotional initiatives on the Pacific Coast as an Official Bourgogne Wines Ambassador.
Working primarily with the on-premise trade in San Francisco, she hosts regular masterclasses
on the expressive single-vineyards of Bourgogne, focusing more recently on classic but
lesser-known Village AOC gems, their climats and lieux dits, as well as excellent value,
terroir-driven Régionales Bourgogne with an additional, more specific geographic designation. A
passionate believer of wine as part of a lifestyle, Annette also travels extensively and writes
about local and international wine destinations as a Wine Country Editor-at-Large.
