Evan Vallée is a San Diego native and hospitality industry veteran. He developed an interest in wine from his French, wine connoisseur father and began following that passion while working at The Rancho Bernardo Inn as a Captain during the era of El Bizcocho. Evan spent the next 10 years working as a Captain at La Costa Resort and The Grand Del Mar while studying and taking exams to achieve the level of Advanced Sommelier with The Court of Master Sommeliers and a Diploma of Wine and Sprits from the WSET.

Evan then moved to San Francisco for a few years where he was the wine director at Wayfare Tavern and a Sommelier at restaurant Gary Danko. Following his time in San Francisco and prior to returning to San Diego Evan spent a year traveling winemaking regions throughout Europe. Upon returning to San Diego he worked on the opening of Vino Carta, San Diego’s first dedicated natural wine shop, and built the program there. Evan is currently Working as the beverage manager for the RMD group on the opening of Huntress Steak and Lumi rooftop sushi while preparing for his third attempt at master sommelier.
