Mary is the Director,. Mary is a veteran wine educator, wine judge and wine business strategist/marketer.

Based in New York, Mary Gorman-McAdams is a Master of Wine, a wine educator, wine judge and wine business strategist. Since May 2019, Mary is the Director at International Wine Center, New York City – a prestigious and long established WSET wine & spirits education center, overseeing all educational activities and developing the learning experience.

Between 2014 and 2019, she was the North American Market Adviser for the Bordeaux Wine Council, where she has led its marketing and educational programs focused on growing the market for Bordeaux wines.

Mary became a Master of Wine in 2011; a distinguished title held only by 380 people worldwide and was awarded the Viña Errázuriz Award, for excellence in the Business of Wine paper in the Masters of Wine Examination. In 2012 she was honored as a Dame Chevalier de L'Ordre des Côteaux de Champagne.

Mary is highly regarded within the North American wine industry. In 2012 Mary joined the IMW’s Global Education Committee, which manages the Institute’s academic program around the world. She also serves as a mentor to MW students.

She is a regular wine judge and seminar speaker at the TEXSOM International Wine Awards and TEXSOM Conference, and has also judged at the Decanter World Wine Awards and the Ultimate Wine Challenge.

Mary served on the board of the Society of Wine Educator’s (2012-2014) and is a regular speaker at its annual conference. She is a founding advisory board member of SommCon wine conference and Winebow’s annual Women in Wine Leadership Symposium and in 2018 was inducted as a Dame d’Escoffier, in the New York Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International.

When not tasting or talking wine Mary can usually be found on the sidelines of a soccer field supporting and cheering for her 16 years old son.
