Alexandre Freguin
Alexandre Freguin born and raised Aix-en-Provence, he began his education at the Aix-Marseille Law University but made a transition to the Provence Hospitality School and discovered his passion for wine and restaurants.
From there he started his apprenticeship alongside side the Michelin stared chef Pierre Reboul* and followed this path all his career between France and UK. Running beverages programs in many prestigious establishments such as Jean Sulpice** (France), Casadelmar** (France), L’Enclume** (UK), Moor Hall** (UK) and Chez Bruce*(UK).
As a sommelier, he won, in 2018, the coveted competition of “UK Sommelier of the Year.” Now part of the technical committee of the UK sommelier academy.
Back in France, Alexandre served as the wine director for Family Perrin in the southern Rhone and is currently running his own self-titled company Alexandre Freguin, combining consulting activities but also as a law teacher at the Aix-Marseille university specialized in wine and viticulture.
Involved since 2019 alongside the magazine Decanter, he Is appointed as Senior judge for the Rhône, also involved in the Central and Eastern Europe regions.
Languedoc wine expert and AOP Picpoul de Pinet brand ambassador appointed since 2024.
