After going to school for business, Brent Kroll became a certified Sommelier at the age of 22 years old and never looked back. He was named a 2018 Food & Wine Sommelier of the Year. He has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Wine & Spirits, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator. He was named a Rising Star by StarChefs.com in 2014. In 2017 he created his first bar Maxwell Park. Maxwell Park was awarded a best wine program in 2019 by the RAMW. It's been awarded Wine Bar of the Year on multiple occasions by Washngtonian, WCP and The Washington Post. In 2018 Esquire named Maxwell Park "Best Bars" in the country.


Prior to Maxwell Brent oversaw 16 wine programs for the Neighborhood Restaurant Group where he designed the wine program of the newly reopened Iron Gate, a historic landmark that was once the longest operating restaurant in D.C. In 2015, Iron Gate was awarded Wine Program of the Year by the RAMW. It received the Top Wine Program in the D.C. region by Modern Luxury, and was also recognized as one of the Best Wine Restaurants in America by Wine Enthusiast. Prior to that Brent was wine director for Adour by Alain Ducass and Casa Tua in Miami.
